NFL’s week two filled with injuries
Week two in the NFL was defined by injuries. Quarterbacks Baker Mayfield, Tua Tagovailoa, Carson Wentz, Tyrod Taylor and Andy Dalton all suffered injuries that knocked them out of the game, though Mayfield returned and finished the game. Running backs Darrell Henderson, Elijah Mitchell and Trey Sermon all had to leave the game, though Mitchell was able to play through his injury at the end of the game. Wide receivers Diontae Johnson, Amari Cooper, Jarvis Landry and Laviska Shenault suffered injuries in their games that could possibly cost them game time. Johnson suffered a knee injury on a meaningless last play of the game.

No. 1 Alabama took down No. 11 Florida in a nail-biter, with a missed extra point being the difference in the game. Florida’s kicker missed an extra point in the second quarter, consequently forcing the Gators to attempt a game-tying two-point conversion after a touchdown with 3:10 remaining in the game. Florida failed the attempt, and lost the game by just two points. No. 1 Alabama escaped a tough game, though they showed they are beatable.
No. 10 Penn State beat No. 22 Auburn in the seventeenth edition of the White Out game. Penn State’s Sean Clifford had an efficient showing, completing 28 of 32 passes for 280 yards and two touchdowns. Auburn’s Tank Bigsby rushed for 102 yards and two touchdowns. The game consisted of controversial calls by the referees. Auburn’s Zakoby McClain was ejected for targeting on a questionable call on third and goal, giving Penn State a first and goal. Nevertheless, Penn State won the game 20-28 in a close, great game.
