NSU Law Professor Talks About Florida’s Amendment 9

NBC’s Steve Litz interviewed Richard Grosso, a professor at the Shepard Broad College of Law, on about Amendment 9 and what it means for Florida. This amendment would prohibit vaping indoors and offshore drilling for oil and gas. NSU Lifelong Learning Institute  

The Lifelong Learning Institute is a program that offers classes for adults from ages 50 to 90 and with any level of education. The lectures range from subjects like literature and politics to economics and history. LLI program director, Linda Maurice, said the goal of the LLI is to create a place for continuing education for older adults at all levels of education. Charles Zelden, a professor from NSU’s College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, spoke about the students saying they challenge their lecturers with great questions that they all benefit from. NSU Names Leonard Pounds Vice President of Clinical Operations

NSU has named  Leonard Pounds vice president of clinical operations. Pounds is responsible for all clinic operations, including the cycle of revenue. As vice president, his job is to enhance the experience of over 200,000 patients who visit NSU’s 39 clinics. He will work with deans and promote NSU’s academic centers. President George Hanbury said that they are looking forward to Pounds taking command of Clinical Operations. “He brings a wealth of knowledge and leadership to the role. I have the utmost confidence that he will lead and guide the growth of this important aspect of the university, giving our clinical operation a distinctive edge,” said Hanbury.

Nominations Now Open

Nominations for the STUEYS are now open. The STUEYS are the annual Student Life Achievement Awards.  All NSU students, faculty, and staff members are invited to nominate candidates of their choice for recognition.  Nominations will be accepted through Jan. 11 at 5 p.m..
