NSU is a unique and lively campus, but that doesn’t mean Sharks can’t take an afternoon to explore the South Florida area — even if that just means finding a quaint place to eat.
A group of friends and I decided that we wanted to get out of the dorms and destress for a bit post-midterm week, but still be COVID-19 safe, so we decided on a truly unique experience and visited Izziban Sushi & BBQ. I did not expect a borderline 5-star experience.
For as little as $20 you can score an all-you-can-eat sushi and buffet, with a twist. Each table comes with a built-in grill and you cook your own meats and vegetables at the table, adding any unique flavor that you would like. They have a menu with a wide variety of meats (beef, chicken, pork) and seafoods (fish, squid, octopus) all basted in their signature kimchi sauces. They also have extensive sushi choices and offer great vegetarian options. This is the perfect opportunity to do something unique and incredibly fun with your friends and/or family while showcasing your inner chef.
The best part of this experience is that when you are done having a great time, you get to eat some of the best Korean food I have ever tasted globally. The service was impeccable, with the food being served with a minimal wait time and a server who brought laughs with our orders.

Another unique dining experience by the Izziban chain is their Snowbean café located a little further upstate in Orlando. Here, Izziban’s Love Deck boasts a stunning lake view and lock bridge. If you are not familiar, this South Korean sensation that took the world by storm and has now spread to places like the U.S., Paris, Moscow, Dublin and South Africa, to name a few. This was mainly popular amongst lovers, but has more recently been extended to individuals, families and friends. Here, you purchase a lock and key and lock it to the bridge and throw the key away in their signature lock box, especially designed for the keys to symbolize the locking of the love forever. At this location, you can also take part in the 1971 Japanese hit sensation of karaoke and sing the night away.
