Women’s basketball season comes to an end
The NSU women’s basketball team made it to the Elite Eight in San Antonio, Texas. The Sharks ended their historic season with a loss to Western Washington University, 80-76. They bounced back from a 17-point deficiency to send the game into overtime.
NSU hosts South Regional
On March 10, the National Collegiate Athletic Association announced that NSU would host the South Region of the 2013 NCAA Division II Women’s Basketball Championship tournament, March 15 to 18. Eight teams played in seven games at the Arena at the Don Taft University Center.
NSU swimmer wins individual title at NCAA championships
On March 16 junior swimmer, Erin Black, captured an individual title in the 500 freestyle event at the NCAA championships n Mansfield, Texas. This was the first national title in the program’s history.
