A proposed law by members of the Texas State House would allow students over 21 and faculty to carry concealed handguns on campus. Utah and Colorado also passed bills to allow guns on campus in their states. If Florida were to pass such a law, NSU would not have to comply since it’s a private institution. How would you feel if Florida decided to allow guns on campus?

According to a 2010 survey conducted by the Huffington Post, the best place in the world to live is Vienna, Austria. Zurich, Germany came in second, with Geneva, Switzerland following closely in third place. The survey was based on factors such as political and social environment, socio-cultural environment, schools and education, and natural environment. Students at McCaskey East High School in Lancaster, Pa. are part of a project, which separates students for six minutes each day, by race, gender and language. School officials initiated the pilot program to support school research that reported that black students who are grouped by gender with a strong role model, have higher self-esteem and perform better academically. Critics oppose the plan, calling it segregation. Do you think this is a form of segregation and why?
