SUTV makes October a month to watch movies

It’s almost October and that means a whole new set of movies will be shown on Sharks United Television. With midterms coming up, we’re all sure to need a break and what better way to do it than with a new movie.

“Bridesmaids” will not only take your mind off your hectic test schedule, it will also keep you laughing through the week. Kristen Wiig wrote and starred in this comedy about a maid of honor struggling through her friend’s wedding along with a unique group of off–the–wall girls.

Keep laughing with “Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Big Happy Family” as the self-professed godmother takes on her family’s problems.

Maybe it will help to know that even people who graduate from law school and become successful attorneys can still make some really stupid decisions, like Ginnifer Goodwin and Colin Egglesfield in “Something Borrowed.”

But if you’re still struggling and hoping someone will fall down from the sky and take your mind off of midterm cram sessions, check out “Thor” instead and escape to a fun reality. Or lose yourself in the exploits of a 16 year old assassin in “Hanna.”

“A Beautiful Mind” can help you if you need some inspiration. Russel Crowe plays a brilliant mathematician who solves just about anything but he proves too much thinking isn’t always a good thing when he begins to lose his grip on reality. So, stop thinking for a while and just watch this story based on the life of John Nash, Nobel Prize winner in economics.

If you’ve just gotten so frustrated that you want to beat something up, watch “Never Back Down 2: The Beatdown” instead. Featuring real life UFC and MMA fighters, this movie will surely help you release some aggressions. Just don’t try the moves on your classmates or professors.

Of course, October is about more than just midterms, there is also the excitement of Halloween approaching. Cobwebs in the trees, ghosts floating above us and scary movies are all part of the holiday fun. So we have to have at least one scary movie to get us in the spirit. Fortunately, we have “Final Destination” to help us prepare our screaming voices.

So don’t forget to take a break from all that studying and check out the movies. They’re guaranteed to at least entertain you for a while so you can clear your head and then jump right back into the study session — or not.
