Refresh your summer: Easy DIY drinks

In the South Florida heat, a refreshing drink is the perfect way to cool off. Here are some delicious and easy DIY summer beverages meant to keep you calm and cool.

Strawberry watermelon smoothie

    • Watermelon
    • Strawberries
    • Lemon juice
    • Water
    • Honey or maple syrup (optional)
    • Place watermelon chunks and strawberries in the freezer.
    • When frozen, place them in a blender and add lemon juice and water. (For a sweeter taste, add honey or maple syrup.)
    • Blend all your ingredients.
    • Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Coconut-lime French soda

    • Coconut cream
    • Lime juice
    • Carbonated water
    • Ice (optional)
    • Add all your ingredients to a glass, stir and enjoy. (Add ice for desired coldness.)

Orange Julius

    • Milk
    • Water
    • Orange juice concentrate
    • Powdered sugar
    • Vanilla extract
    • Ice
    • Add your ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
    • Pour into a glass and enjoy.

Cherry-pineapple lemonade

    • Pineapple juice
    • Lemonade (homemade or store bought)
    • Cherry 7Up
    • Freeze your pineapple juice in an ice-cube tray.
    • When frozen, mix your lemonade and cherry flavored 7Up in a glass, adding your pineapple juice ice cubes.
    • Slightly stir and enjoy.
