Diary of…an intern

My summer was spent at one of the most interesting, innovative non-profits in the world. Although I spent almost all my savings at an unpaid internship, I saw the value of participation and community, and I am forever changed by the lessons learned and the people I met.

Women in the Senate

While 1993 was considered “the year of the woman”, with six female senators elected to office, 2013 represents a new victory for women, as 20 female senators were sworn in office this term, on Jan. 3 in Washington, D.C. This is the largest number of females to serve in the Senate at one time.
