Don’t Delay Filing the 2015-2016 FAFSA

If you have not already done so, file your 2015-2016 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), available at fafsa.gov. The FAFSA deadline is June 30, and corrections or updates must be filed by Sept. 19. Climate-Sustainability Lecture

The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences will host the Climate-Sustainability Lecture Series, “Systematic Synthesis of Novel Water Oxidation Electrocatalysts: Exploring Clean Energy Sources,” on April 22 from noon to 1 p.m. in the Mailman- Hollywood Building, Second Floor Auditorium. Speaker Raphael G. Raptis, professor in Florida International University’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, will discuss the principle of microscopic reversibility. Painting with a twist

On April 25, NSU’s Sharks on the Scene program will provide students with a $15 painting class at Painting with a Twist. The class will include an instructor, canvases, painting supplies and snacks. All attendees must ride in the transportation provided by the program. NSU Shark Shuttle pick up time is at 6 p.m. at the Shark Circle. Tickets will be sold in the Office of Student Activities, located in the Don Taft University Center, on a first-come, first-served basis. Students must present NSU SharkCard to purchase tickets. Forensic Psychology Day event

NSU’s Center for Psychological Studies will host its Psychology Day event on April 25 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Maltz Psychology Building. The event will feature a panel presentation by subject matter experts, followed by five breakout sessions. Attendees will receive breakfast and lunch and a certificate of participation. NSU student to host a book signing event

On April 26, an NSU student will host a book signing event at the Orange County Library System, 101 East Central Blvd., Orlando, Florida 32801 from 2 to 4 p.m. Nery Roman is a graduate student at the Department of Conflict Analysis and Resolution (DCAR), in the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences (SHSS). Roman’s book, “The Inability to See the Other Side of Reality,” is for an audience who has gone through a traumatic event without proper guidance and support in the healing process. Important Meal Plan Information

May 8 at 11:59 p.m. will be the last day for students to use their meal plan for the Winter 2015 semester. The balance from the winter semester does not roll over into the summer or fall semester and as a result students will not be able to use their card after the date mentioned. For more information, contact the
university’s card office directly at (954) 262-8929. The card office hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m.-6:00 p.m.
