While what you might see and hear about is the drinking, hazing, parties, irresponsibility and complacency, this is the exception rather than the rule; and I know this because I myself am a “Frat Boy.” I pledged an Interfraternity Conference (IFC) fraternity at my undergraduate institution. And from what I see here, there are three major issues that hamper the advancement of the Greek community at NSU.

NSU baseball: A team to follow
When I think of this year’s baseball team I automatically think of an explosive offense, and for good reason. As of March 19, the team leads the conference in batting average, on base percentage, slugging percentage, home runs, and walks. This lineup has been demolishing opponents and even put up 20 runs in a victory.

4th Annual NSU’s Got Talent event coming soon
NSU’s Got Talent will be held on March 29 and 30 at 7 p.m. on the Athletics and Student Affairs patio, located directly next to the Mailman-Hollywood building. NSU’s Got Talent, the university’s version of the NBC television hit series of the same name, showcases the hidden talents of NSU students in a game show platform.
Baseball ready for conference battles
As of March 12, NSU has posted the highest slugging and on base percentages in the conference. In addition, they have the second highest batting average and have hit the second most home runs.

NSU’s Accounting Club does taxes for free
NSU’s Accounting Club will offer free income tax-filing services to the NSU community. The club will meet every Saturday from Feb. 4 – April 14, in the H. Wayne Huizenga School of Business and Entrepreneurship, room 3029, from 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
NSU athletics delivers gifts to sick children
Throughout the month of December, Greg Brown, baseball head coach, partnered with the athletic department to collect toys for children at the Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
NSU baseball looks to capture first conference title
On Feb. 3, NSU Baseball will begin its new season under second-year Head Coach Greg Brown. The squad will feature 19 new players this season, and Brown said the ultimate goal for the team is to win the program’s first conference championship.
