Athlete of the week: Laura Saladrigas
Saladrigas is a Florida native who was born in Hollywood and raised in Cooper City. The 21-year-old biology major was introduced to the sport at the age of 6, when she was on the local children’s tee ball team.
Softball prepared for important series with Florida Southern
Through the first 45 games of the season, the team stood with a record of (26-19) and fifth in the conference. With an important series coming up against Florida Southern from April 20-21, the team felt this would be the opportunity to move up in the conference, and try to improve their case for a spot in the regional tournament.
Coach Boneé earns 500th victory
On Feb. 25, the softball team defeated Young Harris 6-3 in what turned out be a historic victory for head coach, Lesa Boneé. This win marked her 500th victory as a head coach at the collegiate level.
NSU softball preview
NSU Softball will start up its new season on Feb. 1 as the team takes on Webber International at home. After just missing out on the regional tournament last season, the team will be playing with extra motivation this season as they look to qualify for regionals.
