$2.5 million reasons to get involved in campus life

The undergraduate population at NSU is approximately 5,000. Each student pays $500 every academic school year in student activity fees. This means that undergraduate students have approximately $2.5 million reasons to get involved in campus life. Think about it as taxes. When you become a taxpaying member of society, will you simply pay your taxes and stand on the sidelines while the government does as it pleases, without voicing your concern and effecting change?

One of the best things to do this time of year is to watch your favorite holiday movies. Nothing can make us smile more than watching Santa come to town or people in awkward holiday-related situations. With that in mind, here are my top 11 movies to watch during the 2011 holiday season. Whether you’ve seen them before or not, they’re sure to provide some great holiday entertainment.

Letter to the editor

I am writing this letter because I feel that there may be other students who are going through similar issues. It is very difficult to coordinate medical appointments and outside dental places are not going to factor in that I am a full time graduate student and cannot afford to take off work to go to the dentist.

“Breaking Dawn: Part 1” revamps the whole Twilight experience

For those devoted fans who kept “Breaking Dawn” closer to them than the Bible, this movie did not stray too far from the actual storyline of the book — a taboo which is never appreciated. The movie kicks off with the pivotal moment when Jacob rips off his shirt (cardiac arrest, anyone?) in outrage over Bella’s wedding invitation. The scene cuts to Bella preparing for her wedding to the vampire godsend, Edward.
