In 2010, Mexican police reported that there were 1,847 kidnappings, the highest in the world, and that number was believed to be far below the realistic figure. Anti-crime groups say that only 1 in every 10 kidnappings is reported because most fear what will happen if they turn to the police for help.

Outtakes extends its hours to meet student demand
On Jan. 23, the Outtakes convenience store, located in the Don Taft University Center, extended its hours to meet student demands. Outtakes will now stay open Monday through Friday 7:30 a.m. – 10 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday 11:30 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Postal service kiosk installed in the University Center
n January, a postal kiosk was installed in the Don Taft University Center, off the west side of the main walkway, between the Flight Deck and the Card Services office. It will be accessible to the NSU community during usual UC hours. Parcel pick-ups are scheduled Monday through Friday, at 4 p.m. and will be subject to NSU’s calendar and holiday schedule.
Faculty Spotlight: James Cannady
“Any life that is well lived is one where you’ve left a positive mark. I have no idea what my mark will be when I’m gone, but I hope that maybe things will be a little better than when I got here. That’s all any of us can hope for,” said James Cannady, Ph.D., professor in the Graduate School of Computer and Information Sciences.

Personally, I’m sick of all the hype these mediocre books receive when something better may be out there somewhere shelved from publication. It really is a shame. Not to forget, “The Hunger Games” movie is on the horizon and, hopefully, delivers more than this book did (which I doubt).
The Hunger games left me starving
“The Hunger Games” makes special use of the first person restricted point of view. I am trapped inside Katniss’ thoughts which come as fragments, short musings, or rushed sentences. Slowly, it changes from me simply reading the book to me experiencing Katniss’ reality. This is where it turns from good to amazing for me. I am identifying completely with ‘the girl from District 12.’
