The women’s basketball team defended their title as NCAA Division II South Region Champions on March 17, in a close lead against The University of Tampa, 56-53.
For the second year in a row, they’ll head to the National Championship Tournament as part of the Elite Eight, with their first match against the Central Region champions, Concordia-St. Paul, March 25 in Eire, Penn.
The Sharks, the top seed in their region, will look to improve on their performance at last year’s championship tournament, in which they lost the first round 80-76 to Western Washington University.
