Sustainability Tip of the Week: Where’s the grocery list?

Are you the type of person who runs to Publix or Walmart just to buy one thing? If so, you might want to spare yourself and the environment that extra gas usage. Turning on your car and driving all the way to a store to pick up one thing uses gas you can save by being more organized. It’s also an unnecessary production of air pollution and increases the chance that in a few days you will do it again for whatever you forgot to get. Try cutting down the number of trips you make for errands and condense all of your needs into a single list for each store in which you shop. Keeping lists for what you need from each store will prevent you from forgetting things and allow you to decide when your list is big enough to warrant making a car trip. You will save money and reduce your carbon footprint.
