Kosher options now available at Shark Dinning locations

Chartwells and Shark Dining have partnered with local vendor, Kosher Central, to provide a variety of Kosher menu items to the campus community. Kosher grab n’ go items will be available in the HPD Café and Outtakes in the Don Taft University Center. Some of the items include: Chicken Caesar, tuna and chef salads, turkey, egg and tomato mozzarella sandwiches as well as brownies and cheese and chocolate Danishes. Kosher foods were one of the student requests voiced at the Town Hall Meeting. For more information or to voice your opinion about the new dining options, call 954-262-5330.

Celebrate the holidays with a concert of peace The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences will host the Bossa Nova Chorale and Pro Musica Chamber Ensembles annual Peace concert on Dec. 5 and 6 at 7:30 p.m. in the Don Taft University Center Performance Theatre. The groups will sing traditional holiday favorites and the concert will be themed around the Renaissance. The music will be accompanied by Renaissance-themed entertainment, such as witty dialogue, joke telling and juggling. The concert is free for NSU students. Calling all student leaders

The Office of Orientation and Commuter Involvement is looking for undergraduate students to serve as an Orientation or Peer Leader. Applications will open on Jan. 5 and end on Jan. 16. DAIS hosts open house The Division of Applied Interdisciplinary Studies will host an open house for students to learn more about graduate programs on Dec. 5 at 6 p.m. in the Maltz Psychological Building. Representatives from the Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences will also be available to discuss FCAS graduate programs. DAIS schools include The Center for Psychology Studiesl; Institute for the Study of Human Service, Health and Justice; mailman Segal Center for Human Development; and the Graduate School of Humanities and Social Sciences. Audition for a play The Farquhar College of Arts and Sciences Division of Performing and Visual Arts will host an audition on Dec. 1 from 3 to 6 p.m. in the Black Box Theatre in the Don Taft University Center for those who are interested in the play, “A Piece of My Heart.” The play was written by award-winning playwright Shirley Lauro and is about five nurses and a country-western singer who goes to Vietnam to entertain troops. The performance will be from Feb. 13 to 22. Those who audition must prepare a one-minute monologue. Auditions are open to all NSU students, faculty and staff.
