NSU alumni day at Jungle Island

On Sept. 24, students are invited to join NSU alumni, family, and friends for a day at Jungle Island, located at 1111 Parrot Jungle Trail in Miami. The park opens at 10 a.m. and lunch will be served from noon to 2 p.m. Admission prices are: $15 for children 3-10 years old, $25 for adults 11 and older, and children two and under are free. Park admission includes parking, lunch buffet and a souvenir. To register, students can visit bit.ly/NSUJungleIsland.

Applications open to share your story at TEDxNSU

What has made you stop, drop and roll in your life? NSU students, faculty, staff and alumni are invited to apply for an opportunity to speak about what has made them pause, take stock of what’s going on and consequently catapulted them into action at TEDxNSU. To apply, visit nsunews.nova.edu to complete and submit an online application by Sept. 30 at 5 p.m. The event will take place from noon to 5 p.m. in the Performance Theatre of the Don Taft University Center on March 18.

2016 faculty symposium

On Oct. 6, NSU will hold their next Faculty Symposium from 4:30 to 6 p.m. in the Faculty Shark Club. This year’s topic is “Adults with Disabilities: Access, Opportunities and Challenges.” Speakers will include NSU law professor Michael Masinter and NSU psychology professor Charles Golden. NSU expands partnership with Miami Dolphins

In addition to providing free access for students to all Miami Dolphins home games, NSU has developed an expanded partnership with the NFL team that will also allow students access to internships, career development panels and community service collaborations. Additionally, students are invited to start off the NFL regular season by visiting NSU’s Shark Village at Hard Rock Stadium to experience high-energy tailgating before games.
