On the bench: The Dolphins will win 6 of their final 12 games

The Miami Dolphins have had their ups and downs. However, given their newfound players, the games that take place from week six to week 18 will be promising wins for the team.

My prediction is that the Dolphins will skillfully beat six of their remaining twelve opponents based on previous games they have played against them and their past records. Also, the final standings for their 2020 seasons highlight that the teams listed were at the bottom of the rankings.

The teams that the Dolphins can beat are as follows:

Week 6: Jacksonville Jaguars (1-16 in 2020)

The Jaguars are incapable of having strong wins. Given their rough start to the season and new rookie quarterback Trevor Lawrence, they will have trouble against the Dolphins’ defense.  Because of the rebuilding phase that the Jaguars are still in, they will have a difficult time even coming close to defeating the Dolphins’ elite defense. This reveals that the Miami Dolphins have a strong chance of annihilating the Jaguars.

Week 7: Atlanta Falcons (4-12 in 2020)

The Atlanta Falcons have their running back Caleb Huntley out, which is a detriment for their following games. However, their rebuilding stagelists an inferior roster of players compared to the Dolphins, which might give them trouble. Yet, Miami’s defense is strong and will fight to the end to win their upcoming games.

Week 9: Houston Texans (4-12 in 2020)

The Houston Texans are struggling with their quarterback Tyrod Taylor going on injured reserve, so rookie quarterback Davis Mills and an inferior defense should give the Dolphins an easy win. The Texans’ lost their three best players from last season, including current Miami Dolphin’s player Will Fuller V. This loss was a huge win for the Dolphins to continue to stive against their upcoming games.

Weeks 11 and 15: New York Jets (2-14 in 2020)

The New York Jets’ credibility as a team does not compare to how the Miami Dolphins were playing in the past. For example, rookie quarterback Zach Wilson has struggled at the beginning of the season, not to mention, the Jets’ weak defense should be no match for Tua Tagovailoa. Additionally, the Dolphins are 8-2 against the Jets since 2016, which shows a long-standing of how well the Dolphins are doing.

Week 13: New York Giants (6-10 in 2020)

The New York Giants will not have a chance against the Dolphins because of all the questionable players who are currently either injured or are not playing. The Dolphins’ defense led the NFL in 2020 with 29 takeaways, and nobody gives the ball away more than the Giants quarterback Daniel Jones. Jones threw 10 interceptions and fumbled the ball away three times last season. His inability to play during this time reflects poorly on the Giants.

Week 18: New England Patriots (7-9 in 2020)

The New England Patriots have taken a fall when it comes to their overall team standing. The upcoming game is not a guaranteed Dolphins win. However, the Patriots split the season series every year since 2013, except for 2016. The reason this year could be different is because of Tom Brady’s absence; he isn’t at the helm of the team. The overall roster for the Patriots this year is the worst it has ever been, and they will have a challenging time this season competing not only against the Miami Dolphins, but the rest of the league.
