SkyWest airlines cancels 700 flights because of computer issues 

According to NBS News, Air carrier SkyWest had to cancel 700 flights because of an internal computer issue that caused their operations to fail for about five hours. SkyWest works for large commercial airlines such as American Airlines, United Airlines, Alaska Airlines and Delta Airlines.  SkyWest had to make major adjustments to their fight schedules and cancelations stretched into the next day. SkyWest made a statement saying they were working, “to return to normal operations as quickly as possible.” 

 

Man fired from grain elevator went back to shoot employees 

According to NBC News, a man who was fired as a grain elevator operator in Nebraska returned to his job with a gun and shot three people. Two people were pronounced dead. The shooting took place at the Agrex Elevator in Superior, which is a southeastern town in Nebraska. The shooter was later killed by another employee. Nebraska State Patrol said, “Max Hoskinson, 61, of Superior, was fired from the grain elevator on Thursday. He returned around 2 p.m. with a handgun and shot three people.” One person died at the scene and the other was flown to the hospital in Lincoln and later passed. 

 

Four killed in Tacoma shooting 

According to NBC News, four people were killed in a Tacoma  shooting. Tacoma police stated that three people died on the scene and one was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries. NBC News reported that, “Police spokeswoman Wendy Haddow said, the shooting happened in an alley behind a residence at about 4:24 p.m. and that at least one victim was found in the street in front of the residence.” As of now investigators are unsure if the shooter acted alone. However at this time no suspects have been arrested. Haddow also reported that there have been 27 homicides in Tacoma this year alone with a city population of 212,000 people. 

 

Robert Durst charged with the death of his former wife 

Millionaire Robert Durst has been charged with the death of his former wife Kathie Durst, who went missing in 1982. NBC News reported that, “the grand was empaneled last week and has started hearing witness testimony.” Durst was sentenced to life in prison without parole for murdering an individual whom prosecutors say aided in covering the murder of Kathie Durst.  NBC News also stated, “He was not charged in her disappearance until this week despite several efforts over the years to close the case.”
