The impact of LGBTQ+ community on campus

The LGBTQ+ community holds great purpose when it comes to individuals expressing themselves and feeling comfortable in their own skin, and who they are inside and out. Nova Southeastern University students who are a part of the LGBTQ+ community can be more involved and present within the community at NSU because of events, organizations, and the Diversity Student Council.   There are resources and people all around campus willing to […]

It’s never too early for Christmas

Christmas is a favored holiday for many people because when it comes to holiday cheer, Christmas is about having a giving spirit. Many have a passion for this time of year not only in December, but also year-round.   The question arises of whether or not it’s too early to celebrate the Christmas season. Given Christmas’s fond nature and exceptional presence I believe it is not too early for Christmas.   When it comes […]

The psychology behind parasocial relationships

As a society and generationally we all have had our fair share of obsessing over celebrities and influencers relationships. We become so invested when being a part of someone’s fandom or personal life. It is as if we have put ourselves in the equation, resulting in parasocial relationships.   Parasocial relationships are one-sided and can evolve into unhealthy obsessions, full of emotional disturbance affecting one individual. It is common in celebrities and influencers who people become attached to due to someone’s feelings about them exceeding their expectations. However, things are […]

Why are the “Eternals” important to the MCU?

Eternals is a monumental step for Marvel’s Phase four reveal of new movies and television shows. Previous Marvel content in the Marvel Cinematic Universe has set the stage well for upcoming films and shows being produced. “Eternals” is something that is super exciting because it will change the course of how the MCU will flow and allow for the connected storyline to progress.   Marvel is in phase four of their cinematic timeline, which includes the upcoming […]

Sharks Abroad Week at NSU

Sharks Abroad Week, through the Office of International Affairs, is a special opportunity for all Nova Southeastern University students interested in traveling the world and immersing themselves in worldwide experiences and cultures. The week of October 18 will consist of events to help provide opportunities for students to gain information on how to get started on studying abroad.  Due to COVID-19 policies, all of Sharks Abroad Week will be taking place virtually on Zoom through webinars. This helps provide a safe way for the organization and their partners to inform students on […]

On the bench: The Dolphins will win 6 of their final 12 games

The Miami Dolphins have had their ups and downs. However, given their newfound players, the games that take place from week six to week 18 will be promising wins for the team.   My prediction is that the Dolphins will skillfully beat six of their remaining twelve opponents based on previous games they have played against them and their past records. Also, the final standings for their 2020 seasons highlight that the teams listed were at the bottom of the rankings.  The teams that the Dolphins can beat are as follows:   […]
